Mercari Kept My Money, Scolded Me For Opening Dispute Via PayPal Atlanta Georgia

214

I received a defective product and when I tried to make a return, I was only given Mercari site credit, which expires in 30 days (nothing was credited back to my credit card). I no longer wanted to do business with this company and reached out multiple times but did not hear back. When I did, it was an email that said they would look into it.

There was no customer service phone number, and you cannot respond to the emails, as they are one-way. I was getting nowhere so I opened a case with my credit card company, and received a rude email from Mercari scolding me for contacting PayPal. The email stated that since I had done so, my account is now under review and could potentially be closed. It stated that I should have contacted them first, but I contacted them 4-5 times and was ignored. What was I supposed to do?

They forced me to take Mercari credit, when I paid with a credit card. You’re then forced to buy something else from them within 30 days or you lose your credit. So now they have my money, and after this my PayPal account is being reviewed for closure due to potential fraud. I have no idea who initiated that.

This company is bogus and does not provide clear contact information, but forces you to go through an entire flow chart to submit a complaint and then you don’t hear back. Then they threaten their customers’ accounts when we have to resort to disputing the charge.
